ANILE PRIZE 2022<\/strong><\/p>

\u00a0Principal Guidelines<\/strong>
<\/u>The Angelo Marcello Anile Association announces the fifth edition of the Anile Prize.
The Prize has been previously awarded to Dr. Alessio Figalli, Dr. Andrea Brini, Dr. Claudio Cremaschini and Dr. Mattia Zanella
The\u00a0 prize will be awarded for a PhD thesis written in English and submitted in an Italian university, concerning a topic that bridges the gap between mathematics and its applications. Works that use advanced mathematics and\/or propose new mathematical models and methods\u00a0 FOR\u00a0 HEALTHCARE (particularly related to epidemics) are strongly encouraged. The work will be evaluated on the basis of the quality of the mathematics and of its impact on the application.<\/p>

The Prize Fund<\/strong>
<\/u>Funds\u00a0 for this prize are contributed by the Angelo Marcello Anile Association.<\/p>

Eligibility<\/strong>
<\/u>The candidate must have completed his\/her doctoral dissertation and all other requirements for his\/her doctorate during the period running from\u00a0 May 1st<\/sup> 2018 to July 31st<\/sup> 2022.<\/p>

Deadline for application<\/u><\/strong>:\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 July 31st<\/sup> 2022.<\/p>

Prize Committee<\/strong>
<\/u>A committee composed of people nominated by the association will select the successful candidate.<\/p>

Selection Procedures<\/strong>
<\/u>Applications should be made using the\u00a0 application form (also \u00a0available \u00a0at assoama.it) accompanied by:<\/p>

  1. A copy of the thesis<\/li>
  2. A curriculum vitae
    A pdf file containing the application form and all the required attachments should be e-mailed to asso-ama@dmi.unict.it<\/a>.<\/li>
  3. The thesis supervisor should e-mail (directly to asso.ama@dmi.unict.it<\/a>) a brief report\/recommendation (no more than two pages) . \u00a0This should include a summary of the PhD thesis, placing it within the context of its contribution to the associated research field and containing an assessment of the balance of input from the student, the supervisor and any other people involved regarding the basic ideas and strategy of the work, the development and use of necessary techniques and the interpretation of the results.<\/li>
  4. The application \u00a0will be supported by at least two recommendation letters written by well-known researchers \u00a0and directly \u00a0e-mailed by the authors \u00a0to asso.ama@dmi.unict.it<\/a><\/li><\/ol>

    Notification of the Award<\/strong>
    <\/u>The result of the competition will be announced within \u00a0December \u00a031st<\/sup> 2022.
    The announcement\u00a0 will appear\u00a0 on the\u00a0 association website.
    If it is considered that no thesis reaches the standard required, the Selection Committee may decide not to award the prize.
    The Prize will be announced again in 2024.<\/p>
